Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival has brought back the art of storytelling. The festival has become an astounding success with story tellers from across the globe taking the audience on a mesmeric journey. The event has emerged as one of the prime storytelling festivals in India.
The past editions of the festival have been an astounding success. Stories of the world echoed in the city of lakes when musicians and story tellers from around the globe took the audiences on a hypnotic journey.
The 6th edition of the festival will carve its magic showcase different genres – history, romance, mystic, mystery and an exclusive children’s segment. Generous mix of folk art performances and fusion musical forms will add to the magical moments.
A new, intimate edition weaving magic with stories, spoken words and live music is going to roll.

Jumlebazi at Udaipur Tales
Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival provides a platform for Oral storytelling from all over the world which also encourages new genres and styles. Dastango Syed Sahil Agha has been tirelessly reviving the lost artform of Dastangoi which is an acclaimed ancient storytelling style having a long history. For the first time Syed Sahil Agha introduced a new oral artform of storytelling called 'Jumlebaazi' at the Udaipur Storytelling Festival 2020. He has been long inspired by the works of 13th century sufi poet Amir Khusro which lead him to realise this innovative style of storytelling. Sahil says Jumlebaazi is an improvisational style of storytelling where he interacts with his audience and weaves a story on the spot with the words shared by his audience in a contextual format laid by him. Jumlebaazi has been well received since his first performance and the audience loves the interaction.

Testimonials
What people say
"From the very first day, Udaipur Tales has been a magical experience. The audience here has been incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Storytelling is about connecting with others, and this festival has provided the perfect platform. As an introvert, I find it challenging to communicate with large groups, but here, we transcend language barriers. We share emotions, images, and create stories together. I'm incredibly grateful to Udaipur Tales for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to connect with such a wonderful audience."

Rebecca Lemaire
Belgian-British Storyteller"As a lifelong reader, I'm always seeking new ways to explore stories. When Salil and Sushmita launched Udaipur Tales, I was intrigued to see what it was all about. I've never experienced anything quite like it! The atmosphere is so enchanting, and I've been hooked since my first visit. In fact, this is my fourth year coming back. Udaipur Tales has become a cherished part of my annual traditions."
